The Doughty House is a private house located at 301 Chippewa Street in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1973〔 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.〔 It is the oldest remaining house in Mount Pleasant.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Doughty House )〕 ==History== The Doughty House was built in about 1865 and purchased by Wilkinson Doughty in 1869.〔 Doughty was an early civic leader in Mount Pleasant, owning a hardware and dry goods store and serving as a town trustee. He was also a founder of Central Michigan Normal School (now Central Michigan University). Wilkinson Doughty lived there until his death in 1909, and the house has remained in his family since that time.〔
